Tom Williams is delighted to announce the signing of an exciting agreement with BELL Racing Helmets International for the provision of helmets and technical support for the FIA Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) and other events in 2019.
Tom (20) from Oxfordshire and co-driver Phil Hall (30) from Nottingham will wear BELL HP9 Rally and GT5 Rally Carbon helmets and communicate using the all new BELL amplifier and radio on a new long-term agreement, beginning at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed – where they will drive a Ford Fiesta R5 on the Goodwood Forest Rally Stage.
BELL Racing Helmets is increasing its presence in rallying worldwide and the support for Tom underlines the company’s objective of proving the technical superiority of its helmets and technical equipment at all levels of the sport. The growing demands of the sport and its growing coverage and awareness represents a huge opportunity for BELL Racing Helmets to build on the quality of its product in this most technically demanding of sports. The relationship with Tom is seen as an endorsement of the growing number of young drivers who are seeking every possible competitive edge. BELL believes that the technical superiority of its product together with the ability and ambition of young drivers such as Tom and Phil will provide a competitive advantage as they continue their quest for international honours in the JWRC.
Commenting on the agreement, Guillaume Bréard, Commercial Manager for BELL Racing Helmets International said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to partner with two young men who have a growing reputation and a long-term future in international rallying. BELL Racing Helmets is pushing the boundaries of technology in rallying. The relationship with Tom and Phil and their ability to communicate with the increasingly significant rallying community is a perfect match for us. Not only will we be monitoring Tom and Phil’s progress, but they will also be helping to provide us with valuable technical feedback as well as communicating the benefits of the BELL Racing Helmet equipment with a new breed of motorsport competitors and fans.”
“The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a great place to announce this new relationship,” said Tom. “This highly respected event with its global audience gives me the first chance to display the support from BELL Racing Helmets with branding on my rally car and overalls. The technical support that BELL is giving us will be incredibly valuable as we continue to learn and develop our skills through the Junior World Rally Championship and beyond. I look forward to working with the team at BELL Racing Helmets International and would like to thank them and all their team in Bahrain for this opportunity.”
